Muddying the Waters

We began this awful warning with an assumption that we were discussing what we described as an organized, disciplined and highly controlled RWDS campaign, with defined aims and a limited duration, conscious that the risk of a societal collapse was non-trivial, even if successfully executed.

We now consider the likely evolution of what we’ve termed the ‘self-starting’ RWDS, where one small grouping initiates its own campaign and strikes a chord with the general population, causing a wave of similar – and overtly similarly targeted – attacks on attractive targets on the Left.

The first thing to bear in mind is that the Right and the Center are no more monolithic than the Left and the sheer variety of agendas, ideologies and prejudices which could cause a call to arms is immense. While initial targets might be greeted with popular acclaim, it would not be long before it became apparent that certain individual agendas, often promoting unpopular or extreme causes, were being worked too, with likely negative impacts on at least some elements of public opinion.  And, as we have noted, the end state and purpose of the RWDS campaign is only incidentally the infliction of pain, death and terror on the Left; the aim and end state is moving the public narrative to the point where the Left’s ideolog(ies) have no more space and traction in public debate than any other.
